Following a 20-year career as a journalist, including a stint in Detroit as national auto writer for The Associated Press, Brian's work focused on media relations and executive communications at four Fortune 100 companies: General Motors, Nokia, Royal Dutch Shell and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. Brian has worked with and advised several CEOs and Chairmen, along with dozens of other senior executives on three continents. He has extensive experience coaching and writing for executives for whom English is not their native language. At GM, he helped pioneer the use of social media and corporate blogs as an effective executive communications tool. An award-winning speechwriter, Brian knows how a well-designed speaker plan and executive communications strategy can help an organization achieve its communication goals. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from California's Humboldt State University and was a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan. Brian and his family are based in The Hague.
